Pimpri Chinchwad is an upcoming township at the outskirts of the city. It is at a distance of 18 KM from Pune railway station. A proposal to call it "New Pune" was struck down due to a large number of controversies. Talegaon Dabhade is a historic city, a town with a municipal council, in Mawal Taluka, Pune district, in the Indian state of Maharashtra. This town is 120 km from Mumbai and 35 km from Pune. The town is situated on highest altitude between the two metro's (Mumbai and Pune) which is at 2200 feet above sea level. The town is higher in altitude than the famous nearby hillstation Lonavla (2047 ft.), thus has pleasant weather throughout year.

Dagdusheth Ganpati Temple

This is one of the most important temple in india. The temple attracts lakhs of devotees everyday. This god is considered as the one who makes wishers true and therefore everyday many people From all over the country visit the place.The recently reconstructed temple is situated on the Congested shivaji road in pune . Eaveryday the arti is performed in the evening in the presence of many citizens.The number of visitors increases tremendously on the eve oe Ganesh Chaturthi in each month and during the Ganesh festival every year.This ganpati mandal has a glorious tradition of organizing wonderful cultural programs every year during Ganesh festval,which attracts many people. Shaniwar Wada :

Shaniwar wada was the excellent palace built specially as the residence of the peshwas. The construction of this seven storied structure was started by bajirao 1 in 1730 AD and it was completed in 1732 AD at a cost of rs.16,120.After the final construction of this huge palace,around 1,000 people used to stay in it.Down the centuries,the original structure was destroyed by many natural and manmade calaities.Therefore ,only the remains canbe seen now like the fortification wall with five entrances.The principal gate is called Dilli Darwaja(Delhi Gate)and the other gate are famous as the mastani or Alibahadur Darwaja,Khidki Darwaja,ganesh Darwaja and Narayan Darwaja.The walls in this magnificent palace werw painted with mythological pictures.Hazari Karanje,a beautiful fountain was also the most important part of the decoration of the palace.

Parvati Hill temples :

Parvati Hill is a hillock in Pune, India. The hillock rises to 2,100 feet (640 m) above sea level. Atop the hillock is the Parvati Temple, one of the most scenic locations in Pune. The temple is the oldest heritage structure in Pune and was built during the rule of the Peshwa dynasty.[1] For visitors, Parvati hill is also an observation point that offers a panoramic view of Pune. It is the second highest point in Pune (after Vetal Hill). The hill has 103 steps leading to the top of the hill where the temple is situated.

Vishrambaug Wada :

Vishrambaag Wada a fine mansion situated at central Pune's Thorale Bajirao Road,was the luxurious residence of Peshwa Bajirao II, the last Peshwa of Maratha confederacy, in early nineteenth century. The 20,000 sq. ft. wada presently houses a post office on its ground floor, a few other offices of the municipal corporation and a small museum of Maratha artefacts put together by noted Maratha historian, Babasaheb Purandare. This structure is famous for its fine entrance and the balcony with carved woodwork.

Sinhagad and Khadakwasala :

Sinhgad (The Lion's Fort), is a fortress located roughly 30 kilometres southwest of the city of Pune. Previously called Kondhana,the fort has been the site of many important battles, most notably the battle of Sinhagad in 1670.Khadakwasla is a dam situated 20 km from the City of Pune in Maharashtra, India. This dam is one of the main sources of water for Pune.Beside the Dam there is the National Defence Academy and Central Water & Power Research Station(CWPRS).

Saras Baug :

This is the best place for people to hang out in the evenings with pleasant lawns and wall-lit fountains. The garden,situated at the foothills of parvait,got the name saras baug because of the residence of birds called saras in the garden.During the early period the place was extremely famous for the sacred tample of shree siddhivinayak(God who makes wishes true). The 225-year old Ganapati temple in sarasbaug was built by Madhavrao peshwa in 1784.The Ganapati temple is surrounded by water

Katraj Snake Park:

This is the most attractive tourist place in Pune, especially for children being one of the best snake parks in the country. It is run by a UGO,Indian herpetological society which also runs a unique rescue center for wild animals. This snake park is home to a variety of snakes and other reptiles like crocodiles. The park also has a library, which provides lots of information about snakes.
